織物作家・高尾弘が徳川家伝来の布を復元する中から生み出した「ねん金」（ねんきん）。本金箔を撚りつけた本金糸・「ねん金」のつづれ織りは、金そのものを織ったような豪華さ。手つむぎの糸を芯に用いることで糸表面の起伏が光を乱反射させ、輝きに奥行きと深みを与える。まるで自ら輝いているかのような神々しい金の織物。
Handspun thread coated with real gold leaf by our artisans results
in the gorgeous Nenkin thread.
Master weaver Hiroshi Takao has recreated the Nenkin cloth first introduced by the Tokugawa Shogunate. Real gold leaf twisted into our handspun thread, results in Nenkin real gold thread. Our tapestries have the majesty of woven gold. The natural variations in our handspun thread capture the light and refract it in many directions, giving our tapestries a dazzling sparkle. It seems as if the tapestry itself is glowing with a divine gold sparkle.
