伝統工芸士、京繍作家の下司喜三子による雅やかな刺繍をあしらった桐箱。桐箱は桐箱造りの老舗による、木目の美しい上質なもの。青地にはらはらと散る桜は角度によって糸の光沢が立体感を見せる。余白を生かした控えめさが優雅と洗練を感じさせるデザイン。帯や着物を彩っている刺繍の美しさを、小物を通してじっくりと味わえる。

An elegantly embroidered paulownia chest by traditional Kyoto craftslady Kimiko Geshi. The chest itself is fashioned by traditional methods out of paulownia wood of superb quality. Depending on the angle, the sheen of the thread gives the cherry blossoms drifting down over a pale-blue background an almost three-dimensional quality. The subdued colours breathe life into the spaces between the falling blossoms for a design of subtle elegance. The same beautiful embroidery as is found in Japanese kimono and Obi can be enjoyed in the form of this miniature object.
