Tie-dyeing techniques, which are used to pattern cloth by tying the cloth with thread to prevent areas becoming dyed, is characterized by the irregularities produced by the tie-dyeing. The scarves of Katayama Bunzaburo Shoten are unique in that they are designed based on the unique irregularities of tie-dyed fabrics. A variety of tie-dyed articles, including apparel, interior goods and accessories, have been marketed and have won popularity at international trade shows.
